Our Programs

We are creating a child-driven, emergent curriculum which emphasizes social-emotional development. Our goal is to create a community where our children feel safe and respected and where they can forge lasting bonds with one another.

We believe learning is richest when it happens in an experiential, nature-based, hands-on, and sensory way. We strive to prepare an environment of abundance where the children have access to a multitude of big, beautiful ideas.

We draw inspiration from several educational philosophies, including Montessori, unschooling, Charlotte Mason, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia.

Parent-Child Program

We offer a once weekly half-day parent-child program for families with children ages 1-4. Families can choose from Mondays or Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. Activities typically include music, movement, yoga, crafts, sensory exploration, and nature play.

Monthly Parent Meetings

One evening a month we host a mandatory parent meeting for all enrolled families virtually over Zoom. These meetings are an essential part of what we do at Roots and Wings Village, as they allow families an opportunity to connect on a deeper level and encourage us all to be engaged with important inner healing work and reflection. Danielle Zola, LMSW, uses her unique skillset to lead us through guided meditations, journal/discussion prompts, and the Emotional Freedom technique (EFT).

Special Events

As a community we are happy to celebrate special moments together throughout the year. This component of Roots and Wings Village is continually evolving. Some events we’ve enjoyed in the past or intend to offer in the near future include holiday celebrations, family camping trips, play dates, field trips, retreats, and educational workshops.
